Time To Celebrate As The BMW M8 Has Been Confirmed

These rumors have been going on way too long and according to BMWBlog, BMW are finally going to give the fans what they have asked for very nicely. The high-end M car called the M8. BMW will produce an M8 Coupe(F92), M8 Convertible(F91) and M8 Gran Coupe(F93).

The Coupe will be the first model scheduled for 2019 and will then by followed a year or so later by the Convertible and Gran Coupe.

Not many people know that the BMW M8 actually exists already because it spends 99.9% of it’s time locked away. Only one was made based on the original 8 Series and it packed a mighty V12 engine, six-speed manual, some sexy bodywork and a stripped out interior. So what can we expect to see under the hood? Well the V12 option is pretty much a non-starter these days so we should see a a reworked version of the 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 and should develop around 600 hp.

To get all that power to the ground the M8 will also get an eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic gearbox.

We will likely start seeing the first M8 prototype roaming the streets in 2018, but until then we will keep our ears to the ground for more information.
