Cheap and luxury aren’t usually two words you see together. That’s something we hope to change today.

We all deserve a little luxury in our lives. We work hard, juggle multiple responsibilities and deserve a treat every now and then.

Some of that can come from a car.

That’s why we put this list together. A collection of luxury cars that won’t break the bank yet will deliver the level of quality we’re looking for.

Some of the cars here may not be ‘cheap’ when new but all can be had for sensible prices when used.

    BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 series is an obvious contender in this list. While not exactly cheap, they deliver far more than their price tag indicates. They are also infinitely configurable, good looking and come with a lot of options.

Whether they really are the ultimate driving machine is up for debate, but there’s no denying they provide a great drive!

    Peugeot 508

The Peugeot 508 is something of a sleeper. Peugeot hasn’t traditionally been known for luxury, but spend longer than a minute in one and your opinion will change.

The new design is awesome. A sleek, modern front end with smart grille, curved panels, modest detailing and a very aero look. Inside, you have lots of space, comfortable seating and more technology than you might think.

    Mercedes E-Class

The midrange Mercedes-Benz is another luxury car that delivers, yet doesn’t always cost as much as you might think. Brand new models will cost plenty, but they also depreciate quickly, offering a lot of potential to drive luxury for less.

The badge does mean higher running and servicing costs, but in return, you get one of the most luxurious cars most of us can afford.

    Skoda Superb

Skoda has come a long way since those plastic boxes it first released. Now owned by the VW group, the brand has come a long way. That’s why the Skoda Superb is in this list.

While not on par with the 3 series or E-class, the Skoda delivers a very comfortable ride, a range of smooth engines and a ton of options if you buy new. All wrapped up in a higher quality package than you might think.

    Citroën C5X

Citroën is another brand you may not expect to see in a luxury car list. Yet we challenge you to take a seat in the C5X and not think it delivers luxury.

The Citroën C5X is a new model from the French car manufacturer but delivers a plush interior, lots of technology, comfortable seating, high quality materials and superb finishing.

    Range Rover Evoque

The Range Rover Evoque may be the ‘cheap’ Range Rover but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deliver. The design may not be for everyone, but it definitely brings the luxury!

The Range Rover Evoque is smaller than the standard Range Rover so is easier to drive and park. It still has the comfortable cabin, lots of leather, solid switchgear and options though.

    Jaguar XF

Jaguar has always been known as a British luxury brand and that is still true today. The Jaguar XF is a luxury cruiser that delivers the driving experience, heritage and luxury we’re looking for.

The XF is expensive to buy new but depreciates rapidly, bringing it into the reach of many buyers once it’s a couple of years old. In return you get a lot of car for your money with some very capable engines!

    Audi A6

Audi is the final manufacturer of the German Three that delivers a lot of car for not a lot of money. This isn’t the top of the range, the same as the 3 series and E-class aren’t top of their respective ranges either. Yet it delivers that balance of luxury and price.

The Audi A6 is a saloon or estate with some silky engines, lots of technology and lashings of leather. You’ll pay a premium when new, but its popularity with fleets means you’ll be able to buy a used one cheaply.

    Lexus LS

Lexus is Toyota’s premium brand and the Lexus LS is one of the brand’s most popular models and for good reason. It’s well-built, looks good and delivers an excellent experience without the premium price tag.

The design may not be universally appealing but there’s no doubting the quality. Reliability and customer satisfaction are also prized by current owners, which is a very good sign.

    Alfa Romeo Giulia

Not all that long ago, seeing an Alfa Romeo on any recommendation page would be very unusual. However, thanks to a revolution within the company and new ownership, it’s very easy to recommend the Alfa Romeo Giulia.

The Giulia is a lovely looking car with modern design, comfortable cabin and very responsive engines. While cheaper than many other cars on this list, it doesn’t fall short in the luxury stakes. Reliability has been transformed too!

    Luxury for less

If you’re willing to try different brands like Peugeot or Citroen, you could buy a new or used luxury car for a lot less than you think. If you prefer more mainstream luxury brands, you may need to buy quality used.

Either way, shop savvy and you could drive something truly special for a lot less than you might think!

Contact Budgen Motors today to book a viewing or test drive a new or quality used Citroën or Peugeot in Telford and Shrewsbury.
