Production VW Golf GTI Clubsport Headed To Frankfurt Looking Awesome

The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport concept has been turned into a production model ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show and thanks to the output of 261 horses, it is the most powerful production GTI ever made. The car also comes with a boost function to increase the power output by 10% (286 hp) for about 10 seconds and all the driver has to do is to push the accelerator right to the floor. Thanks to these improvements in performance numbers, it can hit 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 249 km/h. Claimed fuel economy is 6.7 l/100 km but you can expect this to be closer to the 8.0 L mark. There are of course some added styling tweaks which include; a new aerodynamic package consisting of a completely new front bumper, new side sills, a new rear diffuser, a new multi-part roof spoiler and exclusive 18- or 19-inch forged alloy wheels. The wide black trim stripe on the side between the front and rear wheel arches at bumper level is a tribute to the original 1976 Golf GTI. Other details that are unique to this version are the high-gloss black door mirror caps, redesigned and chrome-plated tailpipes with a much larger diameter than on regular Golf GTI models and smoked LED rear lights. Inside the car you get some racing bucket seats that are partially covered in Alcantara and a honeycomb pattern in the backrest seat cushions. This car certainly looks the part but I worry it will carry a completely over the top premium over the regular GTI.
