Limousines have been around for over 100 years. Originally these “stretched” cars were primarily used to transport bands to and from their gigs all together and in style. Now they’re used for a great multitude of reasons and by people from all walks of life, from teenagers going to prom to the Emperor of Japan. Here are some of the most expensive limousines the world has to offer.

Cadillac XTS, base price $48,000 :

Released in 2012 this is the limousine version of the XTS Sedan. It has three doors on each side, all wheel drive and a 6 cylinder engine. Possible add ons include a suede interior, surround sound, heated seats and even flattering ambient interior lighting.

Porsche Cayenne, base price $75,000 :

This is a stretched versions of the Porsche Cayenne Sport Utility Vehicle, and comes with a sporty 8-cylinder engine. Popular upgrades include a state of the art bar, three TV screens, and a sound system that consumers have been praising since it was released.

Ssang Yong Chairman W. base price $100,000 :

A favorite of Asian limousine services, and manufactured in South Korea, this limo comes standard with four wheel drive and the option of a 6 or 8 cylinder engine. Available upgrades include leather seating, convenient wireless charging and motor operated seats with head and leg rest extensions.

Hyundai Equus, base price $110,000 :

This limo (also manufactured in South Korea) has a slightly longer wheel base than the standard Equus Sedan. The base model comes with a 6 cylinder engine, but upgrades include 8 cylinders, leg rests, wood trim and even a super-safe armored version.

Mercedes Benz S Class, base price $150,000 :

Just like the Cadillac XTS the stretch version gives you three doors on each side. Unlike the Cadillac (and most other limousines out there) it has a 12 cylinder engine and has been the recipient of multiple automobile magazine awards.

Cadillac One, AKA The Beast, $300,000 :

This limousine only has one price, and no upgrades, because it’s already supremely upgraded for one person, the president of the United States. Obviously safety is a key aspect so The Beast is constructed to be like a tank (the body is made of steel and titanium), the fuel tank is encased for safety, and the passengers would survive not only gunfire but a biochemical attack. There is a price to be paid for that much safety, the doors alone are the same weight as an airliner. But, the president probably has someone to open and shut that for him.

Bentley Mulsanne, base price $300,000 :

This sleek and stylish Bently offers consumers tons of fun upgrades, including remote control curtains, two TVs mounted in headrests, tables designed to hold technology like iPads, and a fantastic sound system. Check out a few more options at Limo Find.

    Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB, base price $470,000 :

This luxurious limo is actually the first Rolls Royce produced after the company was taken over by BMW. It’s fancy exterior makes it a favorite for weddings (and wedding photos) and it’s interior of leather, polished wood, and lambs wool carpeting insure repeat business.

    Toyota Century Royal, $530,000 :

Think of this as Japan’s answer to The Beast. Details are scarce but be assured that the Century Royal is as secure as it is luxurious. This limousine is made exclusively for the Emperor of Japan.
