ABT Sportsline are very well known and highly-respected VQ tuner’s so when VW themselves asked them to help out with a limited-run variant of the Golf R, they happily obliged. What they created is called the Golf R360S and as the name suggests it packs 360PS (355 hp) capable of throwing it to 100 km/h in a Ford Focus RS matching 4.7 seconds. Torque output sits at 460 Nm and top speed is bumped up from 250 km/h to 265 km/h. If you want one, you have to live in Switzerland and you will need to be quick on the button as they are only making 220 of them. 165 copies of the five-door and 55 examples of the Variant.

Visually, the R360S can be differentiated from the regular model on a number of fronts. For starters, it comes standard with a special black livery featuring a strip across the hood, along the flanks and on the rear quarter. Unique black wheels also come fitted to all models as do bespoke R360S badges. If you have managed to secure yourself one, you can opt for either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch.
