Volkswagen sadly withdrew from the World Rally Championship recently but that does not mean they are not involved in motorsports altogether. In fact you can buy a track-tuned Golf GTI if you want to race with the boys in the Touring Car Racing series.

What you see below is a revised version of the car from last year (which won two championships) and it packs the a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine pushing out 350 horsepower. As you can see, it features an extensive aero kit, 18-inch racing rims, and a stripped-out cockpit with only the bare essentials required for the track. The aero has been improved for less drag, more downforce and better cooling.

VW has sold twenty Golf GTI TCR’s since they introduced them last season and they are expecting to sell another 30 this year for €90,000 (plus tax) each.
